Written Echolalia

Here is where all of my writing updates will take place from this point on. This wordpress site will remain open for archival reasons, as will my CAPA London blog – though neither of which will have new posts.

Recording! And a piece of good news!

Recording Second Sleigh was definitely a process! Lots of starting, stopping, bloopers. If it wasn’t a singer missing something, it was the pianist. Since our cast is very down to earth, it wasn’t a stressful process. We were more anxious than anything else. Recording something for a CD is very different than singing it live. I oddly felt like a singer for the first time, if that makes sense.

Recording in a church… definitely something I never thought would happen, personally, but that’s a different topic…

Overall, it was a good kind of experience to sink my teeth into. Plus the perk of having a free cast CD when it’s completed isn’t too bad either.

Now for the good news (that isn’t related to London)!

My poem, “Seven Hours” will be in Issue 4 of Glitterwolf soon!

Second Sleigh was not one of the shows chosen for the MN Fringe encore. BUT! I’m still proud to have been in it! We record on Monday!

What My Next Week Looks Like

August 10, 2013 § Leave a comment

Second Sleigh is now DONE (unless we get called for an encore tomorrow night, but with 10 other shows at the venue we were at, the chances aren’t totally in our favor)

Sunday is a rest day (if we don’t get the encore)

Monday is the recording for Second Sleigh, after running some errands in Minneapolis

Tuesday is a rest day

Wednesday consists of more errands, then I’ll be getting my boyfriend, and we’ll go to my Aunts so I can get my hair trimmed

Thursday, my Mom, my boyfriend, and I will head out to the airport in the morning, and they’ll see me off

Friday = LONDON

The Laugh Heard ‘Round The Stage

August 10, 2013 § Leave a comment

My boyfriend came to see The Second Sleigh tonight, and I’m pretty sure that they were the one that was laughing hysterically during the TARDIS nod in scene 4.

So glad I thought of it… so totally worth that laugh.

It’s that high pitched laugh that I’m going to miss when I leave for London in almost 5 days…

They also said that seeing me dressed as an elf and reindeer was something they NEEDED to see apparently.

Tomorrow is our last show, in case we don’t get the Fringe encore (in which we won’t know until tomorrow night). I’m ready.

Upcoming CAPA Blog Debut!

August 5, 2013 § Leave a comment

Starting this Thursday, 8th Aug, I will be posting (at least) biweekly over at my CAPA blog. The first post will be the standard introductory one, so that one will most likely be a video.

In that context, for the occasional video that I do post during my London study abroad, I will also include a transcript within the post.
